Lower Cape Brewster

One of the Beach Girls favorite beach trips is to the Brewster flats, located on the Lower Cape off Route 6 exits 82, 85 and 89 (formally exits 10, 11 and 12) will get you to Brewster. Route 6A, known as the scenic route, offers shops and restaurants along the way.

There are 11 beaches in Brewster on Cape Cod Bay all very tidal with the tide going out opening up the beach to shells and other beach treasures.

In-Season: Tips to know

  • In season from June 15th-August 31st beach permits are required. You can get a day permit on line at Brewster Town Hall for more information.
  • Parking lots fill up early, a permit does not guarantee a space
  • Port-A-Pottys in season at most of the beaches
  • Trash in, trash out policy

Grab your beach bag…. let’s go!

Kitchen Cafe

First…. Coffee

Check out great local coffee shops and cafes.

  • Snowy Owl located on Rt 6A, our favorite for locally roasted coffee, specialty coffees and baked goods
  • Kitchen Cafe also on Rt 6A; coffee, and full selection of sandwiches, breads, baked goods.

Pack the Cooler – Local Spots

  • Brewster Village Marketplace, on Rt 6A. Deli sandwiches, beer, wine and groceries.
  • Friends Marketplace, located in neighboring Orleans, but worth the extra miles. Freshly made sandwiches, healthy options, beer and wine and lots of local products you can’t find other places.

Beach Time

  • Low tide reveals hard flat sand perfect for beach walks
  • Crosby Beach offers a bigger parking lot with overflow
  • Linnell Landing offers a quick walk over to the beach bar at Ocean Edge, see below
  • Week days are always better and less crowded
  • Keep your eye on the tides, high tide can come in quickly and you don’t want to wade in carrying all your beach things!
